Week 3 Studio Class

Today Team Urbans meet a few hours before class to post pictures and throw around their findings….In class team urbans presented many interesting aspects and ideas about their un built architecture and there environment.. Team urbans also expressed their findings throughout the past week that may or may not help others… Team Urbans have discovered a problem “Alert Alert” how big is this Spear and hence how will we walk through spear so it can not be solid!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally after somewhat of trial and error….. It was possible for Archi cad buildings to be transferred into 3ds max… after somewhat of celebration we discussed that this would be the easiest way to transform this unbuilt architecture to crysis. Team urbans read through the assignment criteria and discussed how they would successfully handle this project… in such a time frame.
Before leaving team urbans dived the tasks for the assignment into four ways and thought it be a great idea if they meet up on Monday and Tuesday…. GOOD LUCK URBANS

Week 2 Studio Class

It was important that today we spent our time talking and discussing the different forms of un built building we as a group had collaborated. Gorden present the group with a strange but great structure… as team urbans scanned through the book “Belly of an Architect, discussing Architectural findings by Jonathon Glance” page 200-233 was a work created by Etienne Louis Boullees a design that at first glance was HUGE… After much agreement and throwing ideas regarding how we could really play with this design, this is the un built Architecture we settled on. As a group we spoke to the teachers…. Gorden, Rebbeca, Micheal and Joanne brained stormed there strong points when it came to the use of various programs. Team urbans had a week to explore, try, re try and try again importing and exporting in and out of different cad programs.

About Étienne-Louis Boullée

Étienne-Louis Boullée was born in Paris on 12th February 1728 and died February 4th 1799. Etienne-Louis Boullee work greatly influenced contemporary architects and is still influential today. He was a visionary French Neocassiciam. Neoclassicism is the name given to quite distinct movements in architecture that draw upon Western classical art and culture. Neoclassicism movement were dominant during the mid 18th to the end of the 19th century. Many of Boullée’s designs are monumental visions of neoclassical grandeur that often cross over into outright bombast. Étienne-Louis Boullée Geometric style was characterised by the removal of all unnecessary ornamentation, inflating geometric forms to a huge scale and repeating elements such as columns in huge ranges.
“Boullée promoted the idea of making architecture expressive of its purpose, a doctrine that his detractors termed architecture parlanter (“talking architecture”), which was an essential element in Beaux-Arts architectural trainingg in the later 19th century. His style was most notably exemplified in his proposal for a cenotaphh for the English scientist Isaac Newton, which would have taken the form of a sphere 150 m (500 ft) high embedded in a circular base topped with cypresss trees. Though the structure was never built, its design was engraved and circulated widely in professional circles” wikkipedia

Week 1 Studio Class

As class we were introduced to the course as a hole and what it was we were to achieve throughout the semester…. we were introduced to our major challenge that being the virtual program we were to participate in and be pros at by the end of this course.
We were given a short and brief sepal about the proposed assignments and ideas we could explore to achieve the almighty HD… Which I’m sure will be bounced out through this semester.. So with the question answered an many more to be… The hat went around so that groups or as i like it teams could be picked…
Teams of Four were made and here we spent the next fifteen minutes getting to know each other and exchanging email address we were a team from all over Australia literally.. Welcome… Rebecca, Michael, Gorden and me Joanne. We were then left to put our thinking caps on and come up with the ever so important…. Team name… I knight you The Team Urban’s… and that is how we begun…..
Our next step this lesson was to work through the small tutorials with some team power we worked through…………we spent some what of time creating a new blog account and setting this up so all team members could access….
